Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw in their home match against Italian Giants Juventus in the Europa League Group game last night.
The Italians looked impressive early and it was no surprise when they took the lead on 10 minutes thanks to a long range shot from Vincenzo Iaquinta. However Man City soon rallied and as half time approached City leveled thanks to a lovely Yaya Toure pass, which set up Adam Johnson. The second half brought a few chances but no goals, and overall a draw was a fair result.
Liverpool on the other hand will be somewhat disappointed with their performance in Utrecht and although the 0-0 scoreline means they top the group, the manner of their performance will give manager Roy Hodgson plenty of things to ponder. Liverpool looked disjointed and rarely managed to hold possession for long, and will probably feel slightly fortunate to have escaped with a draw, and Fernando Torres performance will again throw up questions in some quarters regarding his inclusion in the team. The will qualify from this group but will have to show a lot more than this when the competition starts t heat up if they are going to make the latter stages again.
