To Portsmouth fans it must seem like an eternity ago that they lofted the FA Cup in 2008 after beating Cardiff City 1-0 at Wembley. Since there has been a near endless string of bad news which cumulated in the club being forced into administration. However today they finally have something to get excited about and a win today against Spurs would go a long way towards rewarding their loyalty.
Standing in their way is a good Tottenham side managed by their former manager Harry Redknapp and including a fair few ex Portsmouth players who Harry shrewdly snapped up after leaving them. The Bookies have Spurs a short priced favourite, and much as it would be nice to see the underdog win I can’t see it and expect Tottenham to advance to the final without too much difficulty, where they will meet Chelsea who beat aston Villa 3-0 in theother Semi Final. Chelsea will be hoping for 3rd Time lucky if spurs do win as they lost both their Wembley final meetings with Spurs, the 1967 FA Cup and the 2008 League Cup Final both times by 2-1.
